Hello folks! Sorry for the lack of news updates. Although it´s been quiet here at Thunderbaum.com, a lot has happened during last six months.

In February we played our first show after our fall break. The show took place in our hometown Vaasa. More than 200 people showed up at Night Club Circus, and everyone had a blast! Moreover, it was awesome to see and hear such amount of people singing along The Rockpot. For the first time, it really felt like we´ve created a hit song.

In March we participated a band contest called Alkupiste, held at Rytmikorjaamo, Seinäjoki. Among five other bands we were picked to the final out of 200 participants. We rocked our asses off and made it to the top three! We also got some excellent feedback from the jury, which consisted of various professionals in the Finnish music industry. Thanks to our friends, Alkupiste crew and fellow competing bands. What a weekend.

Some of you might have heard rumours that Bobby Dollar had left Thunderbaum. We are sorry to tell you that the rumours are true. Reasons for Bobby´s departure were personal – there were no musical disagreements, bad chemistry or shit like that. Bobby is a great guitarist and he was a founding member and one of the song-writers in Thunderbaum. We would like to thank Bobby for the fun moments together, and wish him all the best!

Last weekend we played our first two shows without Bobby in Seinäjoki and Jyväskylä. According to the audience, we managed it very well with only one electric guitar. For now, we will proceed as a five-piece band. See you at the gigs! Enjoy the summer.

Two brand-new Thunderbaum tracks, “The Rockpot” and “Norman Bates” are finally released! Check them out on our updated Myspace pages! Our “fall break” is nearly over and we´re more than anxious to hit the road again!

"The Rockpot/Norman Bates" will be available on CD too. Along our myspace -profile, these pages will also be updated in the near future. There will be a "store" section selling these CDs and other merchandise. So stay tuned!


















We are THUNDERBAUM - The Morons of Rock.

The title tells it all - we´re gonna have a break next fall, concerning mainly the gigs. This is because of two of the band members will be living (studying) abroad until January 2009. In addition to this, Dr.Sausage entered military service about a week ago. His minimal term of service will be six months, on which we all are counting on.

Even though we are missing half of the band during the fall, doesn´t mean things will stand still until next year. Conversely, we will be working on new songs, releasing new webpages, doing promotional work, booking gigs and so on.

As mentioned below, we went to a studio and recorded two new tracks few weeks ago. Along the new webpages and updates, these songs will be released on the internet somewhere in the near future. This promo-single, or whatever you choose to call it, will also be released on cd. The cds are tentatively made for promotianal use, but will probably, sooner or later be available for everyone.
For our part, we can promise the new songs are the most ass-kicking Thunderbaum ever heard. Noble spirit, cigarettes and rock & roll,

We´ll be entering the studio tomorrow 23.06.2008 to record a two-track-promo-single. It will include two Thunderbaum songs that you have possibly heard if you´ve seen us live lately. We are looking forward to the recordings. Studio reports coming up later.

We are happy to tell you that we´ll be playing at Rokkikesän Avajaiset 2008 next friday! This two-day festival is held at Club 25, Vaasa, 16-17.05. We are very excited playing at probably one of Finland´s greatest venues once more. For further information, check out: Volume.Fi See you guys there!

Thank you for all of you guys who hopped on "Thunderbus" and came all the way to Nosturi to support us last weekend. The trip was great fun and we really are satisfied making it to the top-3 out of 80 bands. "The greatest thank you belongs to you!".

Our next show is at Ikahovi, Ikaalinen 14.05 (+Matthau Mikojan, Lines Of Leaving & Necropolis´ Depth). Thunderbaum´s showtime should be 11.00am. Welcome!

We´re planning to arrange a bus trip to our gig at Nosturi, Helsinki 10.05. The bus would probably leave from Vaasa on saturday forenoon and return from Helsinki on sunday.

The price of the tickets would depend on the amount of people who´d be participating the trip. The tickets would be sold as a bundle which would consist of the bus trip and admission to Nosturi.

However, at this point we´re just counting how many people would be participating this trip. So if you´re interested, please do not hesitate contacting us. There´s also an event on facebook so you can express your desire to attend in that way too.

We made it to the final of Emergenza Nordic band contest. Again, we want to thank our supportive friends and voters. We have to admit we were a little touched to see such amount of our friends in a same place in the same time. Man, all the tits and stuff...Thank you.

The final is held at Nosturi, Helsinki, saturday 10.05. There will be 12 bands competing. We hope to see ALL of you Thunderjacks there!

We´ve been frequently asked to print more Thunderbaum t-shirts. Well, we did as told and now there are some. Contact us and get yours!

We are pleased to tell you that we got the most votes on the first round of the Emergenza Band Contest and therefore moved to the semifinals of the festival. We thank everyone who showed up and voted for Thunderbaum! But hey! We´ll need your support in the future too:

The semifinals are held at Gloria, Helsinki in the late of April. The exact showtime for Thunderbaum is Friday 25.04.2008, 18:30 pm! We are the first band of the evening so we hope to see you there on time!

We´d also like to thank all the people who showed up in Vaasa and Lappeenranta. All of the shows were great, including the "surprise" gig we played at El Gringo 24.03, substituting for the band Max On The Rox.

Some information concerning the upcoming gigs: We are attending "Emergenza Music Festival 2008" -band contest on saturday 01.03.08 @ Semifinal, Helsinki. If you´re around at the time, come and cheer us to the second round!

We´ll be playing a two sets of hardrock covers in Lappeenranta on 07.03.08 at a pub called Old Cock. Possibly some Thunderbaum songs are included in the sets too.

Our next show is in our hometown, Vaasa. We´re more than excited playing at one of our favourite nightclubs, Superstereo. Welcome!

Ps. Last sunday Dr.Sausage drummed in his meaty beats for 6 Thunderbaum songs. We can´t wait to continue the recordings...

Happy new year everyone! Some news from the camp Thunderbaum:

We played our first show 2008 at Pub Katse, Jyväskylä 01.02. Although we were missing Bobby Dollar, the gig was a success and we managed it well with one guitar. Thanks for everyone who showed up, it was great fun! Very special thanks to Anssi for the mixing and Antti for Accommodation.

We´ll be entering the studio this weekend. Our goal is to record about 4-6 new, sweat-stinking Thunderbaum songs. This weekend is booked for the drums, we have no specific schedule for the rest of the recordings. More about the new songs and studio progression later...

Wondering what´s behind the title? We´ll that´s just the name of our next release. Or not.

Last spring, we were strolling down the misty mountains of "Noble Spirit", searching the sixth, missing link to complete our band. It was a rainy night, thunder rolled and lightning cracked the sky…We were lost and drunk.

All of a sudden clouds moved and we saw a shimmering light upon a lonesome mountain. A divine voice said: “Behold…Candyass Hairboy!”
There he stood like a brave knight, like a messenger to bring us all the answers to our questions. From that second we knew we had found the man we´d been looking for.

Candyass has already survived his ordeal of fire playing last three shows with us and actively participating band rehearsals and song writing. In addition to his musical and playing skills, he has also shown great trust in his drinking abilities. With our keyboard/tambourine man Thunderbaum is now a grand, six shooter-hard rock band!

Hereby we present you the sixth member of Thunderbaum: Candyass Hairboy.

It´s been a little quiet here at Thunderbaum´s homesite. But do not worry, we have our reasons for that. Lately we´ve been focusing on writing new songs. We´ve spent lots of time at our training digs working on new tunes. There has also been some thoughts of going to the studio somewhere in the following fall, but time will tell when the next recordings will take place. We don´t either know is the next record going to be a single, EP or possibly a mini-album. If you´d like to hear some new Thunderbaum songs, come see and hear us live. Check out the "shows" -section, including next friday´s gig @ Hullu Pullo with Knucklebone Oscar.

Summer is getting close again and we are all looking forward to the sunny weather and cold beer. Our gangs previously private party, "The Opening of Rock & Roll Summer" is now set as a public event at Club 25. See you guys there!

As it was planned, we recorded the three songs (mentioned below) last weekend. The mixing and mastering is about to happen in the following two weeks. We are looking forward to release the songs that you riff rock-lovers get to listen to them!

Yes, we are planning to record 3 new songs next weekend. At least songs such "Auto Pilot", "Call Your Demons" and "Stoned & Free" are going to be recorded by a buddy called Jouni Uusimaa. Rock.

Hello there! As you can read from the title, Thunderbaum is participating Popcity Vaasa 2007 Final. Hell Yeah! There are total 8 bands displaying their skills and 3-4 of those will be selected to represent Vaasa as a popcity. I added the event to the "shows" -section, go check it out! There will be some infernal live action when Thunderbaum hits the stage 01.12.2006, thats for sure!!
